Food Service/Cafeteria
Important Information: Food Service Program Changes
NO LONGER FREE FOR ALL STUDENT
NO LONGER FREE FOR ALL STUDENT
The Beverly City School has been informed by the State of New Jersey that we are not eligible for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program (free breakfast and lunch for ALL students) for the 2023-2024 school year because the District’s Identified Student Percentage (ISP) of eligible students fell below 40%. The CEP program provided free meals (breakfast and lunch) for all students in the Beverly City School. This change means that all students must submit a meal application and meet the household income levels to receive free meals starting in September 2023. If you do not meet the household income levels, you will have to pay for your school meals. The meal prices for the 2023-2024 school year are $3.00 for lunch and $2.00 for breakfast.
The Beverly City School District is required to collect meal applications from all students for the 2024-2025 school year. The meal application packets are included with this letter and are also posted on the District website (www.beverlycityschool.org). Please note, the meal applications are based on household income and only one (1) application is needed for all students living in the house.
Please drop off or mail the meal applications to the Beverly City School located at 601 Bentley Avenue, Beverly, NJ 08010. The Beverly City School is opened Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the months of July and August. The Beverly City School will be open Monday – Friday in September.
It is recommended that you submit the meal applications to the Beverly City School as soon as possible. This will allow time for all applications to be reviewed and approved in a timely fashion. If you submit your application before the beginning of school and you are eligible, your meals will be free beginning the first day of school. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this important matter.
Breakfast is served from 8:00am-8:15am. Students may bring breakfast from home or participate in our free breakfast program.
Lunch is served in 3 lunch periods beginning at 10:55 am and completing at 1:19 pm. Students may bring lunch from home or participate in our lunch program.
Monthly menus for breakfast and lunch are distributed at the beginning of each month.
Lunchtime is not only a time when students eat their lunch, but they are also afforded opportunities for social interaction with their peers. Students are expected to follow certain guidelines when in the cafeteria or on the playground. Please refer to the Student/Family handbook for additional information.
Please also refer to the Student/Family handbook for our nutrition guidelines.
Summer meals have been and will continue to be offered to the students of the Beverly City Community by the Food Bank of South Jersey.
Food Service is provided to Beverly City School by NutriServe.
