Gifted and Talented Program
Our district’s Gifted and Talented (G&T) program is guided by clearly defined policies and procedures to ensure equitable identification and services for advanced learners. Students are considered for eligibility through multiple measures, which may include the Cognitive Abilities Test (CoGAT), the Woodcock Johnson assessments, NJSLA results, classroom benchmarks, and parental/teacher referrals. This comprehensive, year-round identification process allows us to match individual student needs with appropriate services. Identified students have access to a continuum of offerings, such as differentiated instruction within the classroom and enrichment opportunities, which are designed to foster their academic and personal growth. The identification process follows established timelines each year to ensure consistency, transparency, and timely access to services for students who qualify. In addition, the district reviews the Gifted and Talented program every three years to ensure it reflects best practices and continues to meet the needs of all K–8 gifted and talented students.
